Groundworks for the Norwich City College Greenhouse
The groundworks included concrete strip foundations with provision for anchor fixings within the concrete and ducting through the concrete for services such as electricity and water. A sophisticated rainwater harvesting and storage system was built with substantial below ground tanks to store the water from the greenhouse roof. A solid closeboard fence with concrete posts and gravel boards was installed all round the greenhouse to afford protection. Steps and disabled ramps were also built for easy access. All groundworks were carried out during term time at the far end of a large and busy car park.
